Bihar and Jharkhand among states striving to propel growth in landlocked category

New Delhi: Bihar and Jharkhand find themselves among the states making concerted efforts to advance in the landlocked category, according to the recent ‘Logistics is Across Different States (LEADS) 2023’ report released by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday. While Kerala and Maharashtra stand out as rapidly progressing states, others like Goa, Odisha, and West Bengal are also actively striving to enhance their logistics capabilities.
The logistics sector in India is experiencing rapid development, attributed to the availability of world-class infrastructure in terms of roadways, railways, ships, and other means of transportation. The commendable growth rate of the logistics sector plays a pivotal role in the overall economic development of the nation.
Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted the significant contribution of the logistics sector, emphasizing its role in propelling the country’s economy from $3.5 trillion to an ambitious target of $35 trillion by 2047. The ‘LEADS 2023’ report offers insights into the current state of the logistics sector across various states, shedding light on their progress and initiatives in this critical domain.
