Jamshedpur: State minister Saryu Roy, MP Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato and East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar jointly inaugurated the renovation of Parvati Ghat in Bistupur on Sunday.
Speaking after the bhumi pujan ceremony held on the occasion, Roy said the crematorium would be renovated and more facilities would be introduced on its premises in near future. He praised the crematorium management committee members for their efforts.
The MP said developing the area around the crematorium was on his list of priorities. He directed Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee officials to install high mast lamps at Parvati Ghat.
JNAC officials said Rs 42 lakh would be spent in the first phase of the renovation drive to construct the boundary wall of the crematorium. A gate would also be installed at the crematorium, they said.
The programme was conducted by Inder Agrawal while a vote of thanks was proposed by the Special Officer of JNAC Sanjay Kumar.
