Lohardaga: In a bid to push for the implementation of the Sarna Code, a Bharat Bandh and rail-road chakka jam have been scheduled for December 30 in Jharkhand.
A joint meeting and press conference were convened on Thursday, with leaders from Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan, Central Sarna Committee, All India Tribal Development Council, District Sarna Committee Lohardaga, and Raji Padha Prayer Sabha Lohardaga District, along with various Sarna tribal organizations participating in the event held in Lohardaga.
Chaitu Oraon, President of District Sarna Committee Lohardaga, presided over the program, with Salkhan Murmu, the National President of Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan and former MP, serving as the chief guest. Phoolchand Tirkey, Central President of Central Sarna Committee, was present as the special guest.
The leaders announced that on December 30, 2023, tribals will actively participate in Bharat Bandh and rail-road chakka jam, emphasizing the historical significance of the planned event. The movement aims to draw attention to the longstanding demand for the implementation of the Sarna Code.
