Jamshedpur, Nov. 4: National Unity Week was observed all over Jharkhand from 31 October to 6 November.
On the occasion, under ‘Main Hoon Champion’ a football competition was organised at Shikdi Tola under Basila village in Jadugora by Nehru Yuva kendra, Jamshedpur.
Total of 14 panchayat teams of Potka block participated in the competition. Team Dherol was crowned the winner of the competition while Patharbhanga was the runner-up.
In the women’s football contest team Shikdi of Basila village won the contest while team Balijudi was the runner-up.
Chief guest for the final was Zila parishad Harimuni Singh who gave away the prizes to the winners. On the occasion, organiser of the competition, Xavier Soren, said the main aim of organising the competition is to promote sports and help bring out the hidden talent of the villagers.
To make the event successful, Prabhat Majhi, Muniram Majhi, Fatu Majhi and others played a vital role.
