Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, July 1: The Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), Krishna Kumar, has issued a public notice directing all landowners, builders, and operators to ensure the provision of parking facilities in the basement or ground floor of buildings within JNAC. This notice comes as a response to a PIL (2078/2018) filed in the Jharkhand High Court, which mandates the conversion of basement and ground floor spaces into designated parking areas exclusively.

According to the notice, building owners must adhere strictly to the approved building plans, converting any unauthorized commercial or other activities on these floors back into parking facilities immediately. Failure to comply will result in legal actions under the provisions outlined in the Jharkhand Municipality Act 2011 and Jharkhand Building By-laws 2016.

The directive emphasizes that the High Court’s order prohibits any commercial activities on these floors and mandates their use solely for vehicle parking. Owners found in violation of these regulations will face punitive measures as per the law.
