Jamshedpur: Basanta Utsav 1432 was celebrated with enthusiasm and traditional grandeur under the supervision of Pallishree Kutir at Galudih. The event brought together members of the Bengali community for an evening dedicated to culture, music and heritage.
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Bhushan Gop, Niyati Gop and Samir Hor. In his inaugural address, Bhushan Gop spoke about the timeless spirit of spring and the rich legacy of Bengali culture. The event was conducted by Krishna Sahu.
Promoting and Preserving Bengali Culture
Addressing the gathering, Niyati Gop said the primary objective of Pallishree Kutir is to promote and preserve Bengali culture in Jharkhand. She noted that such initiatives play an important role in strengthening cultural roots among Bengalis living outside West Bengal and inspire the younger generation to stay connected to their traditions.
Cultural Performances Highlight the Evening
The cultural segment featured a variety of performances that captivated the audience.
Arunava Das presented a melodious mouth organ performance. A Shruti Natak (audio drama) in the regional language was staged by Pranati Goswami and her team. Another Shruti Natak by Amit Pray and Munmun Ray also received appreciation.
Young artist Tapasi Das rendered devotional kirtan, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere.
Musical performances were presented by Bulbul Ghosh, Tandra Rehal, Ranjit Das, Soma Chowdhury, Mrityunjay Chowdhury, Subrata Biswas, Nilanjana Sarkar, Ramkrishna Pramanik, Kalpana, Anita Sarkar, Mansi Pramanik, Tapati Dutta, Shankar Sur, Arpito Gope, Tonmoy Gope and Mallika Bhattacharya. Ashok Das provided flute accompaniment.
Poetry recitations were delivered by Shrabani Mitra, Alpana Bhattacharyya, Saraswati Das and Sushmita Ganguly.
The celebration concluded on a vibrant note, reflecting unity and cultural pride among the Bengali community in Jharkhand. The event reaffirmed their collective commitment to preserving and promoting their rich cultural heritage.
