Jamshedpur, Nov 7: State’s disaster management and health minister and Jamshedpur West MLA Banna Gupta issued instructions to make better arrangements at Chhath Ghats after an inspection on Sunday in view of the sacred Chhath festival.
Banna Gupta directed the officials to ensure the deployment of diving teams at each Chhath Ghat so that quick assistance can be provided in adverse situations, for this he directed to seek cooperation from local divers and Tata Steel.
He also directed that cleanliness should be ensured at the ghats so that devotees perform the rituals in a clean surroundings.
Banna Gupta directed the officers of the state electricity department to ensure better lighting system at Chhath Ghat and along the approach routes and settlements and colonies as many devotees walk on foot to Chhath Ghat.
Minister Banna Gupta said that a temporary changing room should be constructed so that women devotees do not face any inconvenience in changing clothes before and after offering Arghya.
Banna Gupta instructed the officials that there is a need to improve the traffic system so that the situation of traffic jam does not arise. He also suggested for better parking facility near the ghats.
He said that monitoring of all things should be ensured through the control room, officers should be on alert mode, any problem should be resolved quickly.
