Jamshedpur, Nov 7: The police of Parsudih police station produced Brajkishore Singh, arrested on the charge of selling narcotics (ganja) to prisoners in Ghagidih Central Jail, in the court from where he was sent to judicial custody. Brajkishore Singh is an ex-serviceman and was reinstated on contract as in-charge of rooms. Now he has become a prisoner of the same jail in which he is the room keeper for selling ganja.
On Friday, when he was searched while on duty in the jail, three pods of ganja were recovered from him. Three sachets contained 30 grams of ganja. An FIR has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at Parsudih police station on the complaint of Vijendra Kumar Singh, the head in-charge cells of the Ghaghidih central prison.
It is being told that under the guise of duty, he used to supply ganja to the prisoners. The other jawans of the jail had given this information to the jail superintendent. After confirming the information, the superintendent sent the information to Parsudih police. When he was examined at 6.10 am on Friday, he was caught with ganja.
The jail administration and the police did not consider it appropriate to find out from where he used to bring the ganja, to whom it was made available and he had protection of which officials. It is hard to digest that narcotics could be supplied by cell in-charge without protection of the jail officials.
