Jamshedpur: Bangbhashi Samanvaya Samiti will soon be launching a membership drive in East Singhbhum with the view to strengthen its base in the district. This was decided at a meeting of the outfit held in Sakchi on Saturday.
Addressing the meeting, the outfit president Bikash Mukherjee said the state government should give an opportunity to the Bengali, Santhali and other regional language speaking children to get education in their mother tongue as it was their Constitutional right.
The outfit general secretary Sandip Sinha Choudhary said the outfit members would organize a padyatra from Jamshedpur to Ranchi in December this year in case the state government does not give Bengali its due respect.
Among those present at the meeting included Bishwajeet Mandal, Purbi Ghosh, Achintam Gupta, Samanto Kumar, Chandan Dutta, Rishikesh ZGhosh, Ashim Dey, Mani Bagchi, Sadhu Mahato and Vani Prasad Mukherjee.
