Bandh against tax hike evokes public support

Seraikela: Congress leaders of Seraikela supported the shutdown called by several local organizations against hike in tax by the municipality on Sunday.

Senior Congress leader Ruhidas alias Satya Kinkar Das came out in support of the bandh. The protestors said that a huge population was living under hellish situation in the municipality area.

They said that increasing the tax was not a justified step since the municipality had not improved the civic amenities being provided to the local residents.

They said that the municipality should first focus on enhancing the quality of civic amenities being provided to the residents and then think about revising the tax.
