Baharagora Villagers protest government neglect of water crisis

Baharagora, Feb 22: Residents of Madhuabeda village in Pathri Panchayat under Baharagora block, have been grappling with  severe drinking water shortage for the past two months due to a malfunctioning hand pump in Dhiwar Tola. Women in the village lamented that their daily routines revolve around water scarcity, with mornings and nights beginning and ending with struggle for water access, exacerbating the problem during the scorching summer months.

Despite multiple notifications to local authorities by concerned residents, the issue remained unresolved. In response, villagers staged a protest against the government today, highlighting the urgency of addressing the critical water crisis.

Among the protestors were Malati Bera, Sarathi Rani Bera, Bulu Bera and many others.
