Baharagora, June 26: The Baharagora unit of BJP convened a meeting today which was chaired by the unit president Baptu Sao. Booth presidents, Panchayat in charges and all unit officials from 78 polling centres of 15 Panchayats attended the meeting. The chief guest on the occasion was the party�s former state president Dineshanand Goswami while the honoured guests included the district organization in charge Devendra Singh, district president Chandi Charan Sao, Block 20 point program president Bibhash Das and district secretary Rohit Kuila.
It was decided in the meeting that the BJP Baharagora unit will launch its membership drive from July 6 on the occasion of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee�s birth anniversary. Every executive member has been directed to enroll a minimum of 25 new members and every poll centre should bring in 200 new faces in the party fold. The members were asked to concentrate specially on the youth, women and SC and ST segments. The drive which will continue till August 11 should aim at a membership drive that would yield more members than the number of votes polled by the party during the recent parliamentary elections in the Baharagora unit.
Devendra Singh, Chandi Charan Sao, Bibhash Das, Rohit Kuila, Gopal Ojha and Parmeshwar Hembram addressed the meeting. Dineshanand Goswami stated in his speech, �BJP delved in politics to wring in progress. We consider it our prime duty to uplift the living and economic conditions of the poor. Party workers are working among poor farmers and labourers in rural sectors for the purpose.�
Also present in the meeting were Gopal Ojha, Bapi Dey, Rajkumar Kar, Kumar Gaurav Pushti, Bhupati Nayak, Bhakti Shri Panda and Dipak Singh.
