Jamshedpur: The badminton competition under the Sansad Khel Mahotsav at Mohan Ahuja Stadium is progressing at a competitive pace, with the finals scheduled for tomorrow at 3:00 PM. Today, the pre-quarterfinal and quarterfinal matches were held, producing the semifinalists across various categories.
In the Girls Under-15 category, Yashasvi Srivastava, Sai Saanvi Parida, Shifa and Anushka Kacchap advanced to the semifinals, while the Girls Under-19 category saw Sarah Sharma, Shifa, Yashasvi Srivastava and Anushka Kacchap move forward. In Women’s Singles, the semifinalists include Sarah Sharma, Payal Kumari, Anushka Kacchap and Vaibhavi Srivastava. Among the Boys Under-15, Priyanshu Kaibarta, Sankalp Kumar, Hamza Ahmed and Subhodeep Mitra reached the semifinals, while in Boys Under-19, Krish Dubey, Syed Wali Hassan, Navin Mahato and Pranshu Shaw advanced. The Men’s Singles semifinals feature Krish Dubey, Kunal Patel, Santu Sharma and Kirtan Agarwal.
The matches today were witnessed by several dignitaries, including MP Bidyut Baran Mahto, Neeraj Singh, Kulwant Singh Bunty, Bhupendra Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Vivek Sharma, Kripal Singh and Prabhakar Prasad, who encouraged the young athletes and appreciated their skill and sportsmanship. The finals tomorrow are expected to attract a large audience as players compete for top honours.
