Badminton championship held for senior citizens in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, August 22: Tata Steel sports department organized Senior Citizen Badminton Championship on August 20 at Badminton Indoor Stadium, JRD TATA Sports Complex under the banner of Senior Citizen Fun and Fitness League, a yearlong programme to engage senior citizens in different sports event.

Total 16 participants joined in the meet. Ashok Kumar, Commandant, CRPF was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the finalists.

As a token of appreciation, a special prize was given to P Mohan Rao (Aged 82+) for participating in the meet.

Vivek Sharma, badminton coach officiated the tournament. Dinesh Rakshit, Manager (Sports and Neelam Kumari, Senior Manager Accounts & Establishment (Sports) lead the event under the leadership of Head Sports Vibhuti Dhand Adesara.
