Jamshedpur: Former Chief Minister and Jharkhand BJP state president, Babulal Marandi, encountered a tense situation on Thursday evening as his helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing at Sonari Airport in Jamshedpur due to heavy rainfall and stormy weather conditions.
Marandi was en route to Dumka by helicopter following a public meeting in Kharsawan when the incident occurred. Shortly after takeoff, the helicopter encountered heavy rainfall and turbulence, prompting concern among passengers as the aircraft began to shake.

In a display of quick decision-making and skill, the pilot made the prudent choice to perform an emergency landing at Sonari Airport to ensure the safety of all on board. Following the safe landing, Marandi promptly informed Sudhanshu Ojha, the BJP’s Jamshedpur President, about the situation.

Upon receiving the news, several BJP leaders, including Sudhanshu Ojha, former district president Rajkumar Srivastava, Harendra Pandey, Amar Singh, Abhay Singh, and Anil Singh, rushed to the airport to assess the well-being of their leader.
Expressing relief after the safe landing, the pilot acknowledged the challenging weather conditions faced during the flight.
