Jamshedpur, Sep 22: H M Nerurkar (MD Tata Steel) accompanied by Padma Bhushan Dr. P K Warrier (Managing Trustee & Chief Physician � AryaVaidyaSalaKottakkal) inaugurated the new KottakkalAryaVaidyaSala Medical Centre at the Arogya Bhawan (Sonari) campus. The ceremony was attended by the Managing Committee of ArogyaBhawan as well as many other senior dignitaries of Jamshedpur.
In his address during the inauguration ceremony, H M Nerurkar said that with the advent of AryaVaidaSala in Jamshedpur, the people of the city will definitely benefit from utilizing the healthcare facilities it will provide. Nerurkar said that no single system of healthcare has the overall solution for a health problem and it is a composite of the various systems available that are capable of complete healing. He also mentioned that Tata Steel has always endeavoured to help society gain health and prosperity and the tie-up between AVS Kottakkal and ArogyaBhawan to create world class Ayurveda facilities in Jamshedpur is a step in this direction.
AVM (Retd.) Dr. T P Madhusudanan (President � ArogyaBhawan Managing Committee) said in his address that ArogyaBhawan and AVS Kottakkal aim to improve the health of the community and augment and support the healthcare institutions already active in Jamshedpur.
Dr. P K Warrier while expressing his views in his address to the gathering said that the Kottakkal AVS Medical Centre at ArogyaBhawan is the coming together of Tata Steel and AVS – two institutions which are more than a century old each and have shared value systems and are both engaged in numerous philanthropic activities. The collaboration will benefit the common man by serving his healthcare needs.
Tata Steel has helped facilitate the coming together of ArogyaBhawan and AVS Kottakkalin the best interests of the citizens of Jamshedpur and the region in keeping with the Company�s traditions of supporting the propagation of healthy living to ensure a prosperous society.
AryaVaidyaSala (AVS) was established in Kottakkal Kerala in 1902 as a Charitable Trust engaged in propagation of Ayurveda based on the vision of its founder, Vaidyaratnam Sri P S Varier. AVS has five hospital facilities across India (Kottakkal, Delhi, Kochi and Aluva) with over 500 beds. The Kottakkal hospital is a 160 bed facility providing free treatment, therapy and medicines to the under privileged and also provides allopathic treatment.
ArogyaBhawan is an institution engaged in practices of Ayurveda, Naturopathy and Yoga in Jamshedpur and provides an important support to the network of allopathic treatment centres spread across the city. In its quest to enhance the services offered, ArogyaBhawan has tied up with AVS Kottakkal to establish the KottakkalAryaVaidyaSala Medical Centre which stands to become the major branch of AVS Kottakkal in Eastern India. The KottakkalAryaVaidyaSala Medical Centre at ArogyaBhawan will be managed in a professional manner as per norms of AVS Kottakkaland in due course, AVS plans to also explore promotingcultivation of locally available medicinal plants to meet a growing need for the same in the AVS network.
