Jamshedpur, April 30: Three bike-borne criminals reportedly tried to abduct a truck driver near Jugsalai Ghoda Chowk on Saturday.
The alleged victim, identified as Vijay Paswan, was saved when he raised an alarm on seeing a police patrol team in the way.
Police recovered the truck which was reportedly robbed by the abductor. They registered an FIR against unidentified persons on Paswan’s complaint and began search for the culprits.
Yadav told cops he was carrying a consignment of steel bars worth Rs 20 lakh from Rungta Steel, Chaibasa, to Baliguma. The culprits stopped him near Ghoda Chowk and beat him up before abducting him. One of them took away the truck while the other two forced him to go along with them on a motorcycle, Yadav told police.
