Attack on party leader, Congress demands action on attackers

Jamshedpur, July 13: A delegation of East Singhbhum District Congress committee met SSP Anup Birtharay and demanded action against two persons who had allegedly attacked party leader Ravishankar KP. The delegation alleged that Ravishankar�s neighbours Ajay Singh and JN Chowdhary had attacked and injured him. They are all residents of Vastu Vihar in Baikunth Nagar, Mango.

The letter of demand handed to SSP Anup Birtharay also included that the names of those persons whose names featured in the list of accused in the violence in Mango last year, were actually innocent and since they helped in maintaining peace in the area should be struck off. The note also mentioned a demand for removal of cases after proper enquiry on people during the incidence of violence in Jugsalai during LS polling. The District Congress claimed that these persons were innocent and helped the administration in maintaining peace in the area.

SSP Anup Birtharay assured the delegation that a proper enquiry would be conducted in both matters and appropriate action would be taken. The East Singhbhum District Congress delegation included Dharmendra Sonekar, Ashok Chowdhary, Ravindra Kumar Jha alias Nattu Jha, Anand Bihari Dubey, Kamal Kishore Agrawal, Dharmendra Prasad, Bablu Jha, Rakesh Sahu, Surendra Sharma, Aruna Mukhi, Aparna Guha, Baldev Singh, Munna Mishra, Saroj Pandey and other party members.
