Jorhat Opening Round: Goswami secured 4,993 votes in the first round, establishing a lead of 1,056 votes over Gogoi, who polled 3,937 votes.

Counting Progress: Officials noted that only one of 14 rounds is complete in Jorhat, and margins are expected to fluctuate as counting continues.

The state conducted polling on April 9, recording a high voter turnout of 85.96% from an electorate exceeding 2.50 crore.
