Asia’s largest hospital soon in Ranchi: Jharkhand Health minister

Ranchi, July 16: Jharkhand health minister Dr Irfan Ansari claimed that Asia’s largest super specialty hospital is going to be built in Ranchi.

State Health Minister Irfan Ansari announced on Tuesday that the proposed RIMS II hospital in Ranchi will be developed on the lines of Amrita Institute, which will be the largest hospital of its kind in Asia in terms of size and facilities.

The minister gave this information while talking to the media in Ranchi after returning from a visit to Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Faridabad.

He said that with the construction of RIMS II, millions of people of Jharkhand will get state-of-the-art medical facilities in their own state and now patients will not have to go to cities like Delhi, Mumbai for the treatment of serious diseases.

The Health Minister also informed that the detailed outline of this mega project will be released soon and the construction work will be started in a phased manner.

During the visit to Amrita Institute, the minister was accompanied by Jharkhand Health Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh and Secretary Arwa Rajkamal. The officials studied the structure, services, management and technical facilities of the hospital so that all these standards can be included in the RIMS II to be built in Ranchi.

The government believes that the RIMS 2 project will give a new direction to the health structure not only for Jharkhand but for the entire country.
