Private security guard nabbed with weapon in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 16: Police foiled a big conspiracy late on Tuesday night in Kowali police station area of East Singhbhum district and arrested a person with weapons and bullets.

The arrested accused calls himself a guard of a private security company SIS (Security and Intelligence Services) and a country-made pistol, nine bullets, uniform, mobile and other items have been recovered from him. This action was confirmed by Kowali police station in-charge Dhananjay Kumar Pasav

The station in-charge said that on the night of July 15, at around 10:35 pm, the Senior Superintendent of Police received information that a suspicious person was standing near Vicky Variety Store in Gangadih under Kowali police station with a weapon, planning to commit a criminal act.

On receiving the information, station in-charge Dhananjay Kumar Paswan and other police personnel immediately reached the spot. On seeing the police, a person tried to run away, who was surrounded and caught.

The arrested person was identified as Ashok Gaur (age 40 years), father Ravi Gaur, resident of Mangalasai, Kowali police station. Dangerous items found during searchWhen the police duly searched Ashok Gaur, many objectionable items were recovered from him. Among them, a grey colored backpack, a country-made pistol, nine cartridges were recovered.

During interrogation, it was revealed that Ashok Gaur often used to go to Begnadih on the pretext of duty and was looking for an opportunity, but due to not getting the opportunity, he could not carry out the crime till now.

Police have registered a new case (number 30/2025) in this case under section 25(1-B)a/26/35 of the Arms Act. Further actionA case has been registered against Ashok Gaur and he has been sent to judicial custody. Along with this, the police has started searching for other possible accused.
