Six Trains Cancelled; Tata-Buxar and Vande Bharat Among Several Delayed

Tatanagar: Rail operations under the Asansol Division of Eastern Railway will face significant disruptions due to scheduled Non-Interlocking (NI) work at Mathurapur station on the Sitarampur-Jhajha section. The railway administration has announced a “Mega Block” to facilitate this technical work, leading to the cancellations, short-terminations, and rescheduling of several key trains between May 10 and May 17.

Railway officials have urged passengers to verify the current status of their trains before heading to the stations.

Trains Cancelled

Six MEMU and passenger services will remain fully cancelled on specific dates:

• Asansol-Jasidih-Andal MEMU: May 10, 14, 15, and 17.
• Jasidih-Banka-Jasidih MEMU: May 10, 14, 15, and 17.
• Asansol-Jasidih MEMU: May 10 and 17.
• Jasidih-Jhajha-Jasidih MEMU: May 10 and 17.
• Jhajha-Deoghar MEMU: May 17.
• Asansol-Bardhaman MEMU: May 17.

Short-Terminated Routes

• Bardhaman-Jhajha-Bardhaman MEMU: From May 10 to 17, this train will run only up to Asansol station. It will remain cancelled between Asansol and Jhajha.
• Deoghar-Patna MEMU & Mokama-Jasidih-Kiul MEMU: These services will terminate at and originate from Jhajha station on May 17.

Rescheduled Trains (Major Delays)

Several express and premium trains, including the Tatanagar-Buxar Express and Vande Bharat, will face heavy delays:

• Tatanagar-Buxar Express: Will depart late from Tatanagar by 2 hours (May 10), 3 hours (May 14), 2 hours 45 minutes (May 15-16), and 2 hours 5 minutes (May 17).
• Buxar-Tatanagar Express: Delayed by 3 hours on May 10 and 4 hours 40 minutes on May 17.
• Dhanbad-Patna Intercity: Expected delays between 1 to 4.5 hours on May 10, 15, and 17.
• Vande Bharat Express: Both the Howrah-Patna and Deoghar-Varanasi Vande Bharat services will be delayed by 1 to 3 hours on May 10 and 17.
• Other Express Trains: The Howrah-Dehradun Kumbh Express, Raxaul-Hyderabad Express, and New Delhi-Howrah Poorva Express are also expected to run several hours behind schedule.
