Asad, Tafiha, Sushmita and Ashish bag ‘Star Award’ at MNPS

Jamshedpur: Star (Sushila talent appreciation reward) award ceremony was held at Motilal Nehru Public School on Thursday.
The award aimed at celebration of youth who go beyond academics and engage in social ventures. The award was initiated last year by Satish Kumar, a permanent resident of the US and MNPS.

A scholarship amount of Rs 14000 is disbursed annually to 4 students of the school. This year the students who bagged the award were Asad and Tafiha Anjum of class X. The other two students who continued the award for the second consecutive year were Sushmita Jha and Ashish of class XI.

The awards were presented by school managing secretary Dr. D P Shukla and Shalini Singh.

On the occasion a special motivational talk was conducted by Dr Amit Mukherjee, a noted orthopedic doctor and active Rotarian and member of MRA.

Dr Mukherjee’s talk was much appreciated by all as he encouraged students to look for reasons for creating joy in life that is through service to others.

Students of class X who will soon take up the board exams were encouraged to work hard in a focused manner for good performance at the boards. Nilanjana Mukherjee, co ordinator of plus two delivered the vote of thanks.
