Jamshedpur, May 22: The central Minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda today urged Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for ensuring commencement of production in auto major Tata Motors Jamshedpur plant.
This comes at a time when the national economy is reeling and is on life support due to the central governments economic stimulus package. Until production commences at the Tata Motors plant, the ancillary industries in Kolhan Region, 80 percent of which are dependent on the auto majors orders will continue to remain dormant in spite of the economic package announced.
Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda has, in a tweet mentioned, I have had talks with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on the industrial scenario especially in Jamshedpur. The recommencement of production will ensure the economic health of trade and commerce. I have particularly discussed the problems being faced by the ancillary industries which are dependent on Tata Motors and unless production resumes in the companys Jamshedpur plant, these dependent industrial units will continue to remain dormant.
I hope the Chief Minister will think deeply over the matter as economic health largely depends on production of goods and services.
Earlier, Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry had in a letter to the Chief Minister drawn his attention on the subject.
