Jamshedpur, Aug 6: The APR Nair athletics tournament for school children commenced at Mango Kukdudih ground on Saturday, in honor of the late educationist APR Nair. The opening ceremony was graced by renowned comedian Kaleem Shaikh, popularly known as Giddu Dada.
In the first biscuit race, Sadaf Parveen secured the first position, followed by Sophia in second place, and Nida in third place. The event attracted more than 150 young athletes from nine schools in the Mango region, all eager to showcase their sporting talents.
The inauguration was attended by sports teachers from various schools and esteemed personalities like philanthropist Dr Afroz Shakeel, Tahir Hussain, Zaid Akeel, Ajay Das, Kalicharan Bharti, and Sukhu Hembram.
The APR Nair athletics tournament aims to encourage and nurture the athletic potential of school students while paying tribute to the late APR Nair, an esteemed educationist. The competition promises to be a platform for budding athletes to shine and showcase their skills in the field of athletics.
