Jamshedpur, Sept. 25: Under the banner of Jamshedpur Veteran Sports Club (JVSC) 3rd Jamshedpur Veteran Doubles Table Tennis Tournament” for veterans above 40 years was held on Sunday morning at Table Tennis Training Centre, JRD Tata Sports Complex.
Total 32 veterans and 16 pairs had participate in the contest. In the Semi Final- Taranjeet and Alok Nobel beat S Ladhiwala and S Mandal by 2 sets to 1 while Apoorva Das Gupta and Homiyar Dumasia beat Suvodeep Das and Rajesh Dubey by 2 sets to 1.
In the Final- Apoorva Das Gupta and Homiyar Dumasia beat Taranjeet and Alok Nobel by 2 sets to 0 to be crowned the winners. For the 3r Place-Suhodeep Das and Rajesh Dubey beat S Ladhiwala and S Mandal by 2 sets to 0.
Umanath Mishra, VP (Finance), ISWP was the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes to winners along with Sanjeev Kumar Singh, GM, ISWP.
Referees for the Table Tennis Tournament were- Ujjal Chatterjee, K B Shukla, S K Singh, L N Mitra. Avinash Kumar, Hony Secretary, JVSC conducted the entire tournament and was supported by P Mohan Rao, Anand Joshi, Ujjal Chatterjee and S K Singh.
