Anti-theft squad for secure Chhath celebrations in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In a bid to ensure the safety of homes and prevent theft during the upcoming Chhath celebrations, the district police have proactively established an anti-theft squad. The primary objective of this squad is to enhance security in various urban areas, especially during the festival of Chhath.

The anti-theft squad, formed under the directives of SSP Kishore Kaushal, is geared towards safeguarding residences and countering theft-related incidents that tend to peak during the Chhath festivities. Policemen equipped with bikes have been strategically stationed in different areas, focusing on locations where incidents of theft are more prevalent.

The squad’s responsibilities include not only keeping a vigilant eye on potential thieves but also conducting continuous patrolling in various localities, Chhath Ghats, and other vulnerable areas. The proactive approach aims to deter criminal activities and create a secure environment for residents celebrating Chhath.

A particular concern addressed by the anti-theft squad is the targeted theft of mobile phones by members of three Pahari gangs at Chhath Ghats. Special vigilance measures, including plainclothes police personnel at Chhath Ghats, have been implemented to curb these incidents. Additionally, continuous miking will be used to alert the public and ensure their awareness of potential threats.

Among the identified areas prone to theft during Chhath, Sidhgora stands out as a hotspot. The police have devised a special security plan for Sidhgora, with heightened patrolling and security measures during the entire Chhath period. This strategic approach aims to curb criminal activities and safeguard residents in the area.

In anticipation of potential security challenges, the district police, under the guidance of SSP Kishore Kaushal, have initiated special security arrangements in specific areas. The identified locations have been marked for enhanced patrolling and vigilance, with a focus on areas where theft incidents have historically occurred.

The district police’s proactive stance and the formation of the anti-theft squad underscore their commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents. The collaborative efforts of law enforcement and community awareness initiatives aim to mitigate the risk of thefts and allow the community to celebrate Chhath with peace of mind.
