Jamshedpur, Oct 2: The Barigoda Durga Puja pandal was vandalized by anti-social elements on Tuesday, sparking outrage among local residents and the Puja Committee. Miscreants tore the cloth of the pandal, fleeing the scene shortly after the incident. The Puja Committee promptly lodged a complaint with the Parsudih police station, who arrived to investigate the damage.

Neeraj Singh, General Secretary of the Puja Committee, expressed his anger over the incident, explaining that the artisans had briefly left for a meal when the vandalism occurred. Just three days prior, a theft had disrupted preparations when a bag containing five thousand rupees was stolen from one of the artisans. Singh condemned the attacks as a blatant disregard for religious sentiments and called on the police to take stringent action against the perpetrators, insisting that the sanctity of the puja should be upheld.
