Jamshedpur: In a joint operation led by Chaibasa Police, CRPF units (209, 203, 205 kg), Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF teams (60 BN, 197 BN, 157 BN, 174 BN, 193 BN, 134), efforts are underway to neutralize top leaders of the banned CPI (Maoists) Naxalite organization. The operation is currently focused in the Kolhan area, with continuous operations forming a joint expeditionary team.
During today’s operation on 29th February 2024, in the forest/hilly area between forest village Hathiburu and Lovab hera under Eilakera police station, security forces discovered and safely removed an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing 5 kgs along with a flame retardant. An iron rod and arrow, part of the Naxalites’ pre-established routes for targeting security forces, were also recovered and handed over to the bomb disposal squad for safe disposal.
Commencing from 10th October 2023, a coordinated campaign is set to unfold in villages including Gailkera police station, Kuida, Chhota Kuida, Maradiri, Meralgada, Hathiburu, Tilayabeda Boypaissang, Katamba, Bayhatu, Bora, Husipi, Rajabasa, Tumbahaka, Regada, Patatorab, Ga Gaburu, Luiya, targeting areas of Naxalite activity.
The recovery signifies a significant step in ongoing anti-Naxal operations, emphasizing the commitment to maintaining security in the region. The joint efforts aim to dismantle the subversive activities of the CPI (Maoists) Naxalite organization and ensure the safety of the affected areas. Operations are actively continuing.
