Jamshedpur, July 9: The Pran Pratishtha day of the Shiva Lingam and Shiv Pariwar was observed today at Kadma Rankini Mandir where thousands of devotees converged to pay obeisance on the occasion. Vedacharya Pandit Sujit Kumar Shastri of Varanasi directed the prayers performed by other priests.
The prayers commenced at 10 am with the Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva. This was followed by Hawan and Arti. Consecrated food was then distributed among the milling devotees.
Speaking to the media Shri-Shri Rankini Mandir committee president Dilip Das and general secretary Janardan Pandey informed that the Shiv Pariwar annual festival was held to commemorate the inauguration of the Shiv Mandir three years ago. Present at the press briefing were president Dilip Das, general secretary Janardan Pandey, vice president KG Govind, Ram Kishore Singh, Dilip Biswas, Rajendra Jaiswal, Subhash Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Narendra Kumar, Harbhajan Singh and other members.
Rankini Mandir is the oldest temple in Kadma and one of the oldest in the city. The people of Jamshedpur and nearby areas have tremendous faith on this temple. People from far off places visit Rankini Mandir for prayers.
