Jamshedpur: The 72nd Tata Motors Annual Athletics and 42nd Inter School Athletics Meet 2018-19 was inaugurated today at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium, Telco by the Chief Guest Sampath Morri, Head, Jamshedpur Plant, Tata Motors Ltd.
More than 1000 Athletes from Tata Motors & Subsidiaries, associate companies and 16 schools are participating in this 2 days extravaganza comprising of total 105 events.
The opening program started with unfurling of flag by the Chief Guest followed by his speech and declaration of �Meet Open�.
This was followed by lightning of sacred flame by President Tata Motors Workers Union along with other dignitaries. The torch was then carried around the stadium by the 8 best performing athletes from the last year.
Games Oath was then administered to all the participant by Chetan Majhi, best athlete of the 71st Tata Motors Annual Athletic Meet 2017-18.
Mr Ravi Shankar Singh, Head- HR, Tata Motors Ltd. flagged off the inaugural event of the day � Men�s 1500mts run.
The Senior Management team of Tata Motors Jamshedpur including Manas Mishra, Head- Product Development, Lt Col Vikas Brar, Head � Admin & Security, Bipin Sharan, Head � Plant Safety were present on the occasion.
Total 74 events were conducted on the opening day.
