Amit Shah’s remarks on Ambedkar an attack on legacy of Constitution’s architect: Subodh Kant Sahay in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay, addressing a press conference organized by the East Singhbhum District Congress Committee, strongly condemned Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his alleged derogatory remarks about Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha. Sahay termed the comments as an attack on the legacy of the Constitution’s architect and a grave insult to the ideals of equality and justice.

Sahay further criticized the BJP for filing what he described as a baseless FIR against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. “This is a desperate attempt to divert attention from Amit Shah’s offensive remarks and to suppress opposition voices,” he stated. He demanded the resignation of the Home Minister and urged the President of India to take appropriate action.
The press conference, held under the leadership of District Congress President Anand Bihari Dubey, also highlighted the party’s plan to organize the “Babasaheb Ambedkar Samman March” on December 24. Dubey announced that leaders, workers, and the public would gather at the Old Court to pay homage to Dr. Ambedkar’s statue before commencing the march.
Senior Congress leaders, including Rakesh Tiwari, Ajay Singh, Khagen Chandra Mahato, and others, were present. Dubey extended a warm welcome to Sahay with a shawl and bouquet, affirming the party’s commitment to upholding Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of justice and equality.
The Congress leaders collectively accused the BJP of undermining democratic values and vowed to expose its alleged misdeeds.
