Jamshedpur, Dec 23: Sardar Balbir Singh Bhatia, a former advisor to the Sakchi Gurudwara Management Committee and a devoted follower of Guru Ghar, was cremated on Monday. He passed away at the age of 84 while undergoing treatment at Tata Main Hospital.
A respected figure in the Sikh community, Bhatia is survived by four daughters, two sons, and a large extended family. His eldest son, Gurvinder Singh Bhatia (Bunty), a member of the Sitaramdera Gurudwara Management Committee and Veer Khalsa Dal, announced that the final Ardas and Shabad Kirtan will be held on Friday, December 27, from 12 noon to 1 PM at Sakchi Gurudwara. An Akhand Path is scheduled to commence on December 25 at the family’s residence in Madhav Baug Colony.
The final rites were conducted under the leadership of Jathedar Jairnail Singh and attended by several prominent figures, including Sakchi Gurudwara President Nishan Singh, BJP leader Amarpreet Singh Kale, former presidents Gurmukh Singh Mukhe and Harminder Singh Mindi, Sikh BJP leader Satbir Singh Somu.
Others in attendance included Surendra Pal (Titu), Sitaramdera Secretary Avinash Singh, Sant Kutia President Jasveer Singh, journalist Parvinder Singh, and many other notable community members and family friends.
Balbir Singh Bhatia’s contributions to the Sikh community and his dedication to social service were remembered fondly by those present. The community mourns the loss of a devoted Sikh and a respected leader, whose legacy of service and faith will continue to inspire.
