Jamshedpur, April 20: The AJSU Party has announced a phased agitation against the alleged inhumane and arbitrary behavior of the traffic police in Jamshedpur. The decision was taken during a district committee meeting held at the residence of Chandragupta Singh, the party’s Central Secretary.

Presiding over the meeting, District President Kanhaiya Singh expressed serious concern over rising public anger toward the local traffic police, warning that the situation could soon escalate into a larger protest. He highlighted the recent incident at Sankata Singh Petrol Pump as a glaring example of police misconduct. Singh added that despite repeated assurances from authorities and even intervention by ruling party MLAs in the assembly, no improvement was evident.

AJSU has already submitted written complaints to the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police. As part of its first phase of agitation, the party would form coordinator teams in every police station area. These teams would conduct postcard and signature campaigns to gather public feedback and relay it to the Chief Minister through the DC.

Central Secretary Chandragupta Singh emphasized that the movement was aimed at seeking justice for students, women, and daily commuters who were reportedly being harassed by the traffic police. He confirmed that a massive public movement would be launched, starting from Station Chowk on Monday, and would spread to Govindpur Anna Chowk, Mango Chowk, Dimna Chowk, Golmuri, Baridih, Bistupur, Jugsalai, Parsudih, and Sakchi Chowk.

The meeting was attended by several key leaders and members, including Pranav Majumdar, Sanjay Malakar, Ashok Mandal, Sanjay Singh, Appu Tiwari, Mrityunjay Singh, Kritivas Mandal, Chandreswar Pandey, Debasish Chaudhary, Sunil Prasad, Lalit Singh, Ashok Tiwari, Sudhir Singh, Sangeeta Kumari, Umashankar Singh, Harry Anthony, Munna Kumar, Pushpa Singh, Alok Ojha, and others. The party resolved to transform this into a people’s movement for accountability and change.
