Jamshedpur: All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) activists put up a peaceful demonstration before the office of the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum on Monday to demand special state status for Jharkhand.
They sent postcards addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demand special status. AJSU leaders had planned to send postcards from each village of the state to the PM to press the Central government to give special state status to Jharkhand.
Flaunting the postcards, the party activists said the party had long been demanding special state status and organizing agitation programmes.
A large number of postcards will be sent to the PM so that the demand may be fulfilled soon. AJSU leaders said the party will continue agitation till the demands are fulfilled. The agitation was led by Babur Khan.
