New transformers installed at Mango

Jamshedpur: New transformers were installed at the power sub-station situated at Purulia Road, Mango, on Monday after the two burnt transformers were removed.

The two transformers were burnt in a major mishap at the sub-station yesterday. Flames rose very high as the oil in the transformer caught fire due to overheating of the transformer.

The MLA of Jamshedpur West Banna Gupta today reached the venue and inspected the installation work. He said he will take necessary measures to make sure the local people get uninterrupted power supply.

Local residents alleged that load-shedding coupled with lack of maintenance of the power sub-station and transformers had led to frequent power cuts in the locality.
