AISMOC 2024 Jamshedpur: Bokaro Steel Plant declared best team

Jamshedpur, Feb 4: Day-3 of All India Steel Medical Officers Conference (AISMOC 2024) scientific program started with lecture sessions by Dr Parag Roy, Medical Oncologist, TMH on “Exon20ins Mutation: Hidden threat in EGFR NSCLC” and Dr Tapan Kumar, Cardiologist, TMH on “Syncope – evaluation and Management”. This was followed by OHS (Occupational Health Services) award paper session where doctors from different steel companies presented their papers.

There was a Panel Discussion on “Sustainable health for Steel Employees” conducted by Dr Sugata Sen, Tata Steel and panelists were Dr Pramod Binayake (Bhilai Steel Plant), Dr A Madhavi (Vizag Steel Plant), Dr Tapas Mandal (Durgapur Steel Plant), Dr Manish Kumar, (Burnpur Steel Plant). This was followed by one of the most interesting sessions of the conference- the Mediquiz, where one team from each steel companies participated with a total of 7 teams (Tata Steel, Vizag Steel Plant, Bokaro Steel Plant, Bhilai Steel Plant, Durgapur Steel Plant, Burnpur Steel Plant & Rourkela Steel Plant).

The Scientific Program was concluded with the Valedictory Function where GMMS Tata Steel, Air Vice- Marshal (Dr) Sudhir Rai (Retd.) gave away the prizes to winners in various award categories.

Hira Memorial Award for the Best Female Speaker was bagged by Dr Sanghamitra Jena, Tata Steel. Best Male Speaker Award was won by Dr Aninda Mandal, Bokaro Steel Plant and Overall Best Team Award was clinched by Bokaro Steel Plant.
