Azim Premji Foundation, Apollo to open medical hubs in state
Ranchi, January 28: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren announced of starting air ambulance facility for medical emergencies in the state soon.Â
Hemant Soren who was the chief guest at the inaugural function of the two-day long first Nephro Critical Care Conference 2023 at Ranchi said, “Our government is making continuous efforts to strengthen the health facilities in Jharkhand. Air ambulance facility will soon be restored in the state. This facility will be made available to the common people at the exact government rate. For better treatment, patients can avail the facility of air ambulance if they want to go to any hospital established in any corner of the country.”

Sources said that a civil aviation policy is being prepared by the state government which would fix charges for use of air-ambulance. Government will take air-ambulance on charter from private operators.
The Chief Minister said that the work is being done to connect the medical circuits of the state with each other. An action plan is being prepared for making generic medicines available to needy patients in rural areas as well.
“There are many things in the health sector which need to be prepared at the ground level. It is our priority that all the district headquarters hospitals of the state work in the presence of specialist doctors,” said Soren.
Soren however admitted that a lot more work needs to be done to strengthen the health facilities in Jharkhand.
“The state government is preparing a better action plan in the health sector. Our government continuously thinks for the betterment of health facilities. Azim Premji Foundation, who is doing better work in the health sector in many parts of the country, is also going to join us very soon. The state government has provided 300 acres of land to Azim Premji Foundation where a medical college will be set up along with health facilities,” said Soren.
He said that Azim Premji’s organization will coordinate with the state government to provide health facilities to people in remote rural areas.
“There are many such institutions, including Apollo Hospitals, who are willing to provide services in the health sector in the state and the government is preparing an action plan. Our government will soon lay emphasis on strengthening health facilities in the state by making better coordination with private hospitals,” said Soren.
Praising doctors for their role during the Covid pandemic in the state, Soren said, “It was the result of the better coordination of all doctors and the state government that the problem like Covid pandemic could be handled carefully. The role of all doctors was important during the Corona period. The Nephro Critical Care Conference program would prove to be a milestone in the health sector. Whatever suggestions the state government receives from the expert doctors in the Nephro Critical Care Conference, the state government will definitely consider those suggestions.”
On this occasion, Dronacharya Samman and Pride of Jharkhand Award were awarded to several specialist doctors who did better work.
