Agni House emerges champion at JUSCO School South Park Sports Day

Jamshedpur: JUSCO School, South Park, celebrated its Annual Sports Day with great enthusiasm and active participation from students across classes. The event was graced by Captain Manish Sinha, Head – Sports, Events and Training Centres, Tata Steel, as the Chief Guest, while A F Madon, Administrator, JEM Foundation, attended as the Guest of Honour. Senior officials, principals of JEM Foundation schools and colleges, and faculty members were also present.

The programme began with an impressive march past, where students representing five houses symbolising the five elements of nature displayed discipline, unity and teamwork. This was followed by a series of vibrant drill performances by students from Std II to Std VII, highlighting themes of peace and harmony, the historic win of the Indian women’s cricket team, well-being through yoga, and self-defence through taekwondo. The performances received loud applause from the audience.

Addressing the students, Captain Manish Sinha stressed that sports are an integral part of school education, helping students remain disciplined, focused and physically fit.

The Best Athlete trophies were awarded across categories. In Std XI & XII, Rishab Pandey and Raunak Kumar (boys) and Akansha Kumari (girls) were honoured. In Std VIII, IX & X, Pawan Dev Purty and Swarna Kumari received the awards, while Vihan Singh and Zainab Nisha were named Best Athletes in Std VI & VII.

Jal House won the Best in March Past trophy, while Agni House lifted the Champion House trophy. School Principal Mili Sinha congratulated the students and emphasised that participation and effort are as important as winning.

The event was successfully organised with the support of Vice Principal Gurmeet Kaur, coordinators Ranjeeta Singh and Neha Parveen, and sports teachers Nikhil Rai, Sunil Sinha, Hemant Rajak and Pano Mardi.
