Patamda clinch football title at Mera Yuva Bharat District Sports Meet

Jamshedpur: District Level Sports Competition was held at the Tinplate Sports Complex, Golmuri, under the aegis of Mera Yuva Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Teams that emerged winners at the block level from Musabani, Gudabandha, Patamda and Boram took part in the event.

The competition featured football for boys, kabaddi for girls, long jump, 400-metre race for boys, and 200-metre race for girls. The event was inaugurated by East Singhbhum District Sports Officer Rupa Rani Tirkey, My Youth India District Officer Mantu Patar, and other dignitaries.

The football final witnessed an exciting contest between Patamda and Boram. After a closely fought match, Patamda defeated Boram 4–3 in a penalty shootout to lift the championship trophy. In the girls’ kabaddi final, Gudabandha defeated Musabani to emerge champions.

In athletics, Birbal Baske won the boys’ 400-metre race, followed by Jiten Hembram and Nitish Murmu. Parvati Singh secured first place in the girls’ 200-metre race, while Pooja Murmu and Deepali Mahto finished second and third respectively. In boys’ long jump, Sanatan Hansda topped the event, with Nitish Murmu and Shankar Soren finishing next. Baisakhi Singh won the girls’ long jump, followed by Parvati Singh and Shibani Singh.

The winning and runner-up teams, along with medal winners in athletics, were awarded trophies, medals, certificates, jerseys and sports kits by NSS Nodal Officer Kamal Kumar Mahto. Several officials and youth volunteers contributed to the successful conduct of the competition.
