Adityapur Station Master suspended following goods train signal violation

Jamshedpur, Nov 13: An investigation has been initiated into a case of signal jumping by a goods train at the Adityapur yard of the Chakradharpur Railway Division. Subsequently, the station master at Adityapur has been suspended pending further inquiry. Allegations against the station master suggest that he failed to promptly report the signal violation to the headquarters and attempted to conceal the incident.

The incident occurred at 4 am on November 6, when a goods train bypassed a signal and advanced 500 meters beyond its designated point. The breach was brought to light when employees, upon reviewing the CCTV footage of the data logger in the relay room, raised concerns with senior officials.

In response to the violation, a supervisor’s team is meticulously examining the CCTV footage from the data logger to understand the circumstances leading to the goods train’s loco pilot jumping the signal.
