Jamshedpur, Nov 13: A devastating fire erupted on Monday night at the residence of Shibu Kumar, a resident of Ramkrishna Colony and LIC agent under Ulidih police station. The incident resulted in the complete destruction of all belongings within the house, causing significant losses.
The fire, suspected to have been ignited by lamps lit during Diwali celebrations, prompted an immediate response from the fire department and local authorities.
Upon receiving information about the fire, a fire brigade rushed to the scene and endeavored to control the blaze. The chaotic situation in the colony added to the challenges faced by the firefighting team. Unfortunately, despite prompt efforts, goods worth lakhs were reduced to ashes in the fiery incident.
Shibu Kumar, the homeowner, recounted the sequence of events, explaining that they had lit a lamp and momentarily moved to the rear part of the house. It was the neighbors who alerted them to the fire. Upon realizing the severity of the situation, they rushed back to the house and promptly informed both the fire department and the police.
Regrettably, the fire consumed numerous items within the residence, including cash and valuables, resulting in substantial financial losses. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of exercising caution during festive celebrations, especially when handling traditional elements like lamps, to prevent such tragic occurrences. Authorities are expected to conduct investigations to ascertain the exact cause of the fire and ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
