Jamshedpur, Aug 10: An 18 year-old youth, identified as Sumit Gorai, resident of Road No 2, Motinagar, Gamharia, reportedly committed suicide by hanging self to death in the wee hours of Wednesday. He worked as an assistant at a local tent house and was reportedly given to substance abuse.
Sources said the news of Sumit’s suicide transpired around 5 am when the youth’s mother went in his room and found her son hanging from the overhead pipe supporting asbestos roofing of his room with the help of a sari. Hearing his mother’s cries, Sumit’s brother Umesh rushed to the room along with his father Nitin Gorai and their neighbours. Sumit was still breathing. He was taken to MGM Hospital where he breathed his last.
