Aadhar Card mandatory for new pensioners

Ranchi, Dec 31: The Chief Secretary R S Sharma today directed the labour department officials to inform the new pensioners that nobody would be included in the pension plan without Aadhar number or, Enrollment ID (EID) number and bank account. He said that to maintain transparency the account number should be verified in district database.

He was speaking at review meeting of Labor Department, which focused on the pension payment schemes operated under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The meeting was held today at Project Building.

The Chief Secretary directed that there should be no sub-allocation of money at block-level and no intermediary parking account for transferring money from treasury to the beneficiary�s account.

The Chief Secretary laid stress on automation of sanction process to ensure that the mechanism of payment is delivered correctly to the beneficiary. He suggested constitution of Project Management Unit (PMU) for real-time assessment of pensioners, management systems and financial planning.

Principal Labour Secretary Vishnu Kumar, Finance Secretary Department Shri A.P. Singh along with other officials were present at the meeting.
