88 pucca shops allocated to vegetable vendors in Golmuri

Jamshedpur, June 27: East Singhbhum district administration allotted 88 pucca shops to the displaced vendors of Tinplate vegetable market in Golmuri on Thursday.

The market would be known as Raghubar Market, said the vendors.

A function was organized on this occasion to mark the inauguration and allocation of shops. Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP president Dinesh Kumar and Chief Minister�s representative Pawan Agrawal were present on this occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the BJP president said the BJP had understood the pain of vendors displaced during anti-encroachment drive in Golmuri several months back. As a result, the state government was urged to build pucca shops for the displacement victims, he said.

Agrawal said the CM had assured to provide relief to the vendors by constructing pucca shops for them. He said the vendors would get electricity, water, toilet and security among other basic amenities. He appealed to them to keep their premises clean and hygienic.

Agrawal said the Urban Development Department had approved a fund of Rs 25 lakh for the displaced vendors. He said those left out in the shop allocation process would soon be given shops.
