80 schools in Jharkhand renamed as CM School of Excellence

Seraikela, May 27: As part of the Adarsh School Scheme, 80 exceptional schools developed across the state, including three in the district, will now be known by special names. The Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Directorate of Secondary Education, Government of Jharkhand, has issued instructions regarding the renaming of these excellent schools. The decision to change the names was made due to the existing names of these schools not effectively highlighting their status as Schools of Excellence, leading to confusion.

With the government’s consent, these special category schools will now be referred to as CM Schools of Excellence. Consequently, the names of the three schools in the district that have achieved the status of Schools of Excellence will also be modified. For instance, the Girls School of Excellence, previously known as Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singhdev State Sponsored Girls High School, will be renamed as Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh Dev State Sponsored CM School of Excellence Girls, Seraikela. Similarly, the KGBV School of Excellence, formerly known as Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential School Seraikela, will be called Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential School CM School of Excellence Seraikela. Additionally, the District School of Excellence, formerly known as Nripraj Government + 2 High School Seraikela, will now be called Nripraj Government CM School of Excellence Seraikela. Ravikant Bhakat, the Seraikela Block Program Officer, provided information regarding the renaming process, stating that all necessary procedures, including enrollment, for the three aforementioned schools have been carried out in accordance with departmental instructions. These Schools of Excellence, operating under the CBSE board, are equipped with modern facilities such as English medium education, smart classrooms, state-of-the-art libraries, subject-specific laboratories, language laboratories, separate computer labs for ICT and IT, a common cultural hall, sports facilities, and experienced teachers. The aim is to ensure that these excellent schools are equipped with better educational resources and facilities compared to private schools.
