8 pm deadline for Ramnavami immersion procession in Jamshedpur, police also in civil dress

Officers directed to share information promptly, maintain contact with Akhadas

Jamshedpur, March 29: All immersion processions have to be concluded by 8 pm and all incidents will have to be reported to the control room immediately.

This was amongst the instructions given by the East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Vijay Jadhav and SSP East Singhbhum Prabhat Kumar to the super zonal, zonal magistrates and police officers at Rabindra Bhawan as part of preparation for the Ramnavami procession.

The members present in the meeting were given detailed information about sensitive and vulnerable places as well as precautionary measures to be undertaken during the procession. All the magistrates and police officers were given clear instructions that they would ensure the immersion of the Ramnavami procession gets completed by 8 pm. They were asked to ensure that the procession does not stop at any one place for a long time.

 Instructions were given to maintain contact with the licensees akhadas committee member and to give necessary guidelines by contacting the volunteers as per the list provided by the akhadas.

The senior officials of the district also appealed to the organizers to celebrate the festival without disturbing the peace.

“Magistrates, police officers and police force should not have communication gap in any way, share phone numbers and work in mutual coordination. Static Magistrates will also accompany the procession, the deputation will not move from the place until ordered by the superior officials. The magistrates deputed at the immersion ghats will keep updating on the immersion procession in the control room,” said the deputy commissioner.

Senior Superintendent of Police  Prabhat Kumar asked all BDOs, COs and police station in-charges to  jointly inspect all the akhadas. Police force will also be deployed in civil dress. He said that if there is any anti-social activity or attempt to create hindrance in maintaining peace, then videography, photography should be done immediately, after the conclusion of the procession, legal action will be taken by the police administration.

SP Rural East Singhbhum Mukesh Lunayat said that all magistrates, police officers will report at the place of deputation on time and will also ensure that the police force also arrives on time. The procession route was directed to be inspected once again. Instructions were given to check the barricading and escort the procession till its return. The police force was directed to report at the place of deputation with all types of body protectors.
