Jamshedpur: The Steel City is witnessing high-octane sporting action as the 75th Steel City Golf Tournament unfolds across the scenic 18-hole Beldih and Golmuri Golf Courses, drawing golfers and spectators alike with its competitive intensity and rich legacy.
The prestigious tournament has attracted over 250 golfers from across the country, including participants from Patna, Bhubaneswar, Paradip, Ranchi, Delhi and the host city Jamshedpur. Strong participation from local golfers has further added to the tournament’s competitive edge and festive atmosphere.
The landmark edition of the tournament was inaugurated on Friday by Arjun Munda, former Union Minister and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, at the Golmuri Golf Course. An enthusiastic golfer himself, Munda formally teed off the event and praised the organisers for successfully carrying forward the tournament’s long-standing sporting tradition.
Saturday’s round featured intense competition across multiple categories, with players showcasing skill, precision and sportsmanship amid the lush green surroundings of the twin courses. Spectators were treated to high-quality golf, reinforcing the tournament’s reputation as one of eastern India’s premier sporting events.
Several eminent personalities associated with the championship include Jamshedpur Golf Secretary Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Chief–Safety at Tata Steel Abhijit Avinash Nanoti, JCAPCPL Managing Director Varun Bajaj, Tata Steel Chief–Corporate Services B. Chandrashekhar, DBMS Chairperson Ranaveer Sinha, XLRI Alumni Committee Global President, and Rajen Kamani.
The tournament will conclude on Sunday, with T V Narendran, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Steel, scheduled to attend the closing ceremony and felicitate the winners.
