Jamshedpur, Jan 23: The 597th free eye cure camp organized by East Singhbhum Chapter of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) in association with Ram Manohar Lohia Seva Sansthan began on Saturday at Ram Manohar Lohia Netralaya, Bagbera, with registration of eye patients.
Dr BP Singh, noted eye surgeon of Jamshedpur and others conducted eye check-ups prior to screening for COVID-19 by the district surveillance team. Out of 217 patients who have been checked for eye ailments, 43 patients have been identified with for cataract surgery scheduled for 24th January. However, bearing in mind Corona protocol, only 25 patients will be operated and the remaining will be attended in the next camp which is expected to be held from 30th January to 1st February 2021.
This free three day eye camp which will conclude on 25th January, is being sponsored by Gopal Das Maheshwari on the joyous occasion of his granddaughter Yanshi’s birth anniversary. At the time of inauguration, Gopal Das Maheshwari, Akhil Maheshwari, Balmukund Goel, President, Ram Manohar Lohia Seva Sansthan and Bijay Kumar Singh, Hony Secretary, IRCS, were present.
