Jamshedpur, July 30: Tata Steel sports department conducted the Cross Country Race on the occasion of 112th Birth Anniversary of JRD Tata on Saturday, July 30 at JRD Tata Sports Complex.
Cross Country Races for Project, Jusco and Non Jogga schools were organised from 7.45 am onwards. Around 400 Schools children from Project, Jusco, Other schools had participated. In Cross Country races for employees of Tata Steel Group (Men & Women) around 150 Men & women participated.
Distinguished person like Vivekanand Thakur, DSP, (Traffic), B B Mangal Murty, Principal District Judge, Farzan Heerjee, Chief (GR & Sports), was present on the occasion as Chief Guest & Flagged Off the 1st, 2nd and 3rd races in the morning.
In Cross country 2 km Junior girls category Sanjana of DBMS Liliput was first, Jasmin Kumari of ADLS Society School was second while Suman Priyadarshini of SSG English School came third.
In 3 km Junior boys R Sarwan of Gulmohur High School was first followed by Bikiash Majhi of JSMI EDU Karandih and Deepak Hembram of DBMS Liliput.
In 3 km senior girls Kalpna Das of KSMS was first followed by Phuleshwary and Dolly Barua of Kerala public Project School.
In 5 km senior boys Pramod Kumar of Kerala Samajam Hindi School was first, Akash Sawayan of DBMS Liliput was second while I Shobit of Gulmohur High School came third.
In 3 km for Women employees Shobha Rani Hansda of Tata Steel came first, Priyanka Pandey of Tata Steel was second while Snigdha Pandey of JCAPCPL was third.
In 5 km for Men employees A Sharath Kumar of Tata Steel was first followed by Sanjeev Kumar of Tinplate and Sunil Purty of Tata Steel.
Total of 537 participants took part in the cross country race including 18 women employees, 134 men employees and 385 project school students.
Bagicha Singh was the director of the meet and was ably supported by Ahsan Khalid, V Ramakrishna, Basant Singh, R K Singh, N C Deb, R K Banra, R K Verma, K K Biswas, Jujhar Singh, Amit, Dr. Shashi Ranjan, Renu Bhaduria, Punam Kumari, Kuntala Paul, Satish Singh, Ajit Singh, Hassan Imam, Arvind Parasad, Nageshwar Rao, Ramesh Das, Mrinmoy Patro, Binod and trainees of training centers, cadets of Archery, Football & Athletic Academy, JSA staffs of Sports Deptt and Game teachers of all Projects, Jusco and other schools participated.
Suraj Kumar, SDO Dalbhum, was the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes to the winners.
Farzan Heerjee, Chief (GR & Sports) and Mukul Vinyak Choudhari, Administrator (TFA & Sports) welcomed the guests.
